Singer/composer Carlinhos Vergueiro started his career in 1973, recording two singles, while
still working at the Stock Exchanges in São Paulo.
In 1974 released Brecha, his first LP, and started to dedicate himself exclusively to music.
Became known of the audiences by winning the "Festival
Abertura" in 1975
with his composition "Como um ladrão".
Musically trained in the classics, he had as his master his grandfather, Guilherme Fontainha.
He had the honor of working with Cartola and Nelson Cavaquinho
and the pleasure
of composing with Adoniran Barbosa.
Carlinhos produced LPs of the great composer Geraldo
Filme (1980), the last recordings of
Nélson Cavaquinho (1985), "Ópera do Malandro", by Chico Buarque
(1985) and Candeia (1986)
with original compositions of the great composer.
He wrote songs with Vinicius de Moraes, Chico Buarque, Toquinho, Sueli
Costa, J. Petrolino,
Paulo César Pinheiro, Elton Medeiros , João Nogueira, Paulinho
da Viola, among many others.
CARLINHOS VERGUEIRO performed in Italy, France and Cuba,
and has more than 150 songs recorded.
At the present, he is recording his next CD, soon to be released.
He is a contemporary artist who always treasured his roots.
