Considered a prodigy, participates in concerts and/or recordings 1978: Plays on Hermeto Pascoal's group for the next 2 years performing
1980: Joins Egberto Gismonti's group.
l982: Releases his debout album
as a leader, "Bugre", featuring his own 1983: Organizes his own group, "Nene Band", a sextet with three Brazilians 1984: "Jazz Hot" Malone names "Bugre" to its top ten list of the year 1985: Releases his third album, "Minuano". 1986 - Back in Brazil, tours and records with "Pau Brasil".
1987: Returns to France. "Minuano" makes the Brazilian top-ten of the year. 1988: Organizes the new line-up "Nene". 1989: Tours with Egberto Gismonti, Charlie Haden and Michel Portal in quartet.
1990: Album and tour in Japan with Takashi Kako. 1991: New album and tour with "Pau Brasil" in Brazil and Europe.
1992: Zurich Festival with Paulo Moura. 1993: Invites Hermeto Pascoal and Arismar do Espírito Santo for 1994: Tour in Europe with Hermeto Pascoal and the accordion payer Richard Gallano.
1995 - Back in Brazil, organizes a new group "Nene & Four de Ases" performing 1996 - Japanese star Lisa Ono's guest on a 18 concert tour in Japan.
1997 - Guest on the 2nd. Seminar of Brazilian rhythms in Belo Horizonte,
